Character Commissions

One of my 'specializations' is character commissioning. This means that I design and draw your role-playing character for you, according to text and art references that you give me in advance. I'm pretty flexible: I do shoulder-up portraits, full-body portraits, action poses, and backgrounds, whatever you would like. Color, black/white, and grayscale are all fine with me. Prices are negotiable.

Character Design prices range from $80 - $200.

Commission Samples

The following are some of the commissions and character designs I've completed, along with some sample descriptions (from the commissioners) as reference.

Click Commission for a friend. I illustrated their RPG campaign - everyone had around one small paragraph of description, except for Alys and her wolf, which had like two pages :P I think it turned out okay!
Click Not much description for this demonic...er, chef, except a reference for Baby Huey, the giant duck. ^_^ Got to use my imagination, so it was a lot of fun designing him.
Click Fan Artwork commission - I don't do many of these except at Anime Conventions. A spin off of Final Fantasy's white mage - I also drew a Fighter to complement her~!
Click Commission of a character, Velkrin, completed in December 2002. I got a decent-length description paragraph, and two links to pictures (one for the shield, one for the dragon wings). A typical commission process: sketch, inking, and soft CG coloring in Painter 6.1.
Click An older artwork; I was given few paragraphs of text description for this character portrait. I especially like this one because everyone comments on how her face seems too princess-like to be a leather-clad traveller - that very trait was specified in the character description.
Click The commissioner was very specific with what he wanted for this catgirl: He gave me visual and textual references, a pose, even a color palette. It worked out great!
Click A book cover illustration, with very specified details for each character and their positioning. More comments available by clicking the thumbnail!
Click The commissioner of this picture sent me 7 pages of his novel-in-progress, in addition to a one-page description of this character, Larken. I read everything to get a good feel for the character, then used pencils and Painter 6 to create this portrait.
Click A portrait commission with multiple characters within one family. The only thing I had to work with were short text descriptions which allowed a lot of artistic liberty.
