Step Five

Err yah..basically I just went wild on the hair....notice how theres a distinct hairline on the top of her head, and that even though the wind effect is greatly exaggerated, the hairs on her head are believable..this is because the curved lines are all more or less going in the same direction. Again notice that there are no spikes! I didn't draw this hair strand by strand, but there are certain flowing shapes that I drew in first, and then filled in with strandular texture. I highly discourage 'outlining hair' from the outside...
This is to illustrate how I DO NOT think hair should be drawn, and how I DO think it should be drawn. See the difference? I think the blue method gives you more control over the hair...click the thumbnail for a more detailed view.
